Manifestation Quotes: 42 Sourced Lines From The Original Teachers

42 manifestation quotes from Neville Goddard, Florence Scovel Shinn, Thomas Troward and The Kybalion, each verified against its original source with a n...

Most manifestation quotes pages are unattributed lists scraped from other unattributed lists. This one is different: every line below is traced to the actual book or lecture it comes from, with the year it was published, and each quote carries a short note on how a practitioner would actually work with it. Copy them, keep them, test them.

Manifestation quotes on imagination and assumption (Neville Goddard)

Neville Goddard taught from 1938 until his death in 1972, and his entire system rests on one claim: imagination is not fantasy, it is the creative act itself. These lines are the spine of that teaching.

"Assume the feeling of your wish fulfilled and observe the route that your attention follows."

Neville Goddard, Feeling Is the Secret (1944)

The working instruction behind almost everything Neville taught. Do not visualise the route to your desire; assume the end state and let the route arrange itself.

"A change of feeling is a change of destiny."

Neville Goddard, Feeling Is the Secret (1944)

Seven words that summarise the law. When the outer day goes wrong, this is the line to return to: fix the feeling first, because the feeling is the cause.

"You are already that which you want to be, and your refusal to believe this is the only reason you do not see it."

Neville Goddard, Feeling Is the Secret (1944)

The most confronting line in the whole tradition. Your desire is not distant; only your assumption that it is distant keeps it that way.

"The ideal you hope to achieve is always ready for an incarnation, but unless you yourself offer it human parentage, it is incapable of birth."

Neville Goddard, Out of This World (1949)

Your desire exists as a possibility already, but it needs you to embody it. "Human parentage" means dwelling in the state until it becomes natural to you.

"Change your conception of yourself and you will automatically change the world in which you live."

Neville Goddard, The Power of Awareness (1952)

Self-concept first, circumstances second. This is why affirmations aimed at the world fail while affirmations aimed at who you are work.

"Your world is your consciousness objectified."

Neville Goddard, The Power of Awareness (1952)

Read this as a diagnostic tool. Whatever keeps repeating in your life is a printout of a state you keep occupying, whether you chose it or not.

"The whole vast world is yourself pushed out."

Neville Goddard, lecture series (1954)

The phrase behind everyone is you pushed out. People do not respond to your words; they respond to the state you hold about them.

"Disregard appearances, conditions, in fact all evidence of your senses that deny the fulfillment of your desire."

Neville Goddard, Feeling Is the Secret (1944)

Not denial of reality but a refusal to vote for it. The senses report the old assumption; the new one needs time to print out.

Manifestation quotes on the spoken word (Florence Scovel Shinn)

Writing in the 1920s, Florence Scovel Shinn taught that the spoken word carries a creative charge that silent thought does not. Her books are short, quotable and still startlingly direct.

"Man's word is his wand filled with magic and power!"

Florence Scovel Shinn, Your Word Is Your Wand (1928)

The founding claim of spoken affirmation work. Speech is treated as a command to the subconscious, not a description of what is.

"The game of life is a game of boomerangs. Our thoughts, deeds and words return to us sooner or later with astounding accuracy."

Florence Scovel Shinn, The Game of Life and How to Play It (1925)

Her version of cause and effect. It makes the mental diet a practical matter: what you send out is the returning supply line.

"Nothing can hinder, nothing can delay the manifestation of the Divine Plan of my life."

Florence Scovel Shinn, Your Word Is Your Wand (1928)

A decree to speak when timing anxiety creeps in. It dissolves the checking habit that cancels most assumptions before they land.

"When man can 'wish without worrying,' every desire will be instantly fulfilled."

Florence Scovel Shinn, The Game of Life and How to Play It (1925)

The diagnostic question: can you hold the desire without the anxiety attached to it? Practise until the worry channel goes quiet.

"Every great work, every big accomplishment, has been brought into manifestation through holding to the vision."

Florence Scovel Shinn, The Game of Life and How to Play It (1925)

Holding to the vision is the whole discipline. Not holding it for a weekend; holding it through the weeks when nothing seems to move.

"Look with wonder at that which is before you."

Florence Scovel Shinn, The Game of Life and How to Play It (1925)

Shinn's gratitude instruction. Wonder at what already exists trains the same receptive state that new manifestations arrive through.

"The imagination has been called, 'The Scissors of The Mind,' and it is ever cutting, cutting, day by day, the pictures man sees there."

Florence Scovel Shinn, The Game of Life and How to Play It (1925)

Imagination is always running, not just during your practice session. The pictures you rehearse idly are being cut from the same cloth.

Shinn's affirmations, with their sources and usage notes, are collected in Florence Scovel Shinn affirmations.

Manifestation quotes on mind and causation (Troward and The Kybalion)

Before Neville and Shinn, Thomas Troward's 1904 Edinburgh lectures gave the New Thought movement its philosophy of mind as cause, and the anonymous 1908 Kybalion compressed older hermetic ideas into seven working principles.

"THE ALL IS MIND; The Universe is Mental."

The Kybalion (1908), the Principle of Mentalism

The first hermetic principle and the premise every manifestation method stands on: experience is mental before it is physical.

"As above, so below; as below, so above."

The Kybalion (1908), quoting the Emerald Tablet

Inner and outer mirror each other. Change the pattern in one and the other must eventually correspond.

"Nothing rests; everything moves; everything vibrates."

The Kybalion (1908), the Principle of Vibration

A stuck situation is not fixed, only slow-moving. This is the hermetic reason no circumstance is ever final.

"Opposites are identical in nature, but different in degree."

The Kybalion (1908), the Principle of Polarity

Fear and faith, lack and supply, are the same scale at different positions. Transformation is movement along the scale, not escape from it.

"The Principles of Truth are Seven; he who knows these, understandingly, possesses the Magic Key before whose touch all the Doors of the Temple fly open."

The Kybalion (1908)

The book's promise in its own words. Note the word "understandingly": memorising the principles is not the same as working with them.

"Spirit is the power which knows itself."

Thomas Troward, The Edinburgh Lectures on Mental Science (1904)

Troward's definition of creative intelligence: awareness aware of itself. Your self-awareness is the small end of that same power.

"What man feels deeply or images clearly, is impressed upon the subconscious mind, and carried out in minutest detail."

Florence Scovel Shinn, The Game of Life and How to Play It (1925)

Feeling or clear imaging is the impression; the subconscious handles the execution. Your only job is the quality of the impression.

"The subconscious mind is simply power without direction."

Florence Scovel Shinn, The Game of Life and How to Play It (1925)

The subconscious does not judge your instructions; it executes whatever is impressed most deeply. Undirected worry counts as an instruction.

Manifestation quotes on love and relationships

The tradition treats love the same way it treats everything else: the outer relationship reflects the inner state. These lines are the ones to sit with when a specific person or a new relationship is the aim.

"Real love is selfless and free from fear. It pours itself out upon the object of its affection, without demanding any return."

Florence Scovel Shinn, The Game of Life and How to Play It (1925)

Demanding a return is the vibration of not having. Shinn's definition quietly diagnoses most relationship anxiety.

"Perfect love casteth out fear."

1 John 4:18, quoted throughout The Game of Life and How to Play It (1925)

Fear and love cannot occupy the same state at the same moment. When jealousy or dread appears, this is the line that names the real problem.

"Bless your enemy, and you rob him of his ammunition."

Florence Scovel Shinn, The Game of Life and How to Play It (1925)

Resentment keeps you welded to the person you resent. Blessing them releases the link and frees your state for better material.

"No man is your enemy, no man is your friend, all alike are your teachers."

Florence Scovel Shinn, The Game of Life and How to Play It (1925)

Every difficult person is showing you a belief you still hold. Once you take the lesson, the pattern tends not to repeat.

"Every man is a golden link in the chain of my good."

Florence Scovel Shinn, Your Word Is Your Wand (1928)

A decree to speak before difficult meetings and strained conversations. It changes the state you bring into the room, which changes the room.

"Change your conception of yourself and you will automatically change the world in which you live."

Neville Goddard, The Power of Awareness (1952)

Worth repeating here because relationships answer to self-concept more than to technique. The person you believe you are is the person people meet. For the full method, see manifesting a specific person.

For Shinn's relationship decrees verbatim, see Florence Scovel Shinn love affirmations.

Manifestation quotes on prosperity and supply

The teachers were unanimous on this point: abundance is a state to be occupied, not a sum to be chased. These lines train that state.

"I am an irresistible magnet for all that belongs to me by Divine Right."

Florence Scovel Shinn, Your Word Is Your Wand (1928)

Note the phrase "belongs to me by Divine Right": the decree assumes ownership first and lets the channels sort themselves out.

"My endless good now comes to me in endless ways."

Florence Scovel Shinn, Your Word Is Your Wand (1928)

"Endless ways" releases you from picking the channel. Supply often arrives through a door you were not watching.

"My supply is endless, inexhaustible and immediate and comes to me under grace in perfect ways."

Florence Scovel Shinn, Your Word Is Your Wand (1928)

"Under grace" is the load-bearing phrase: it releases the strain and striving out of the request, which is what allows it to land.

"Infinite Spirit, open the way for my great abundance."

Florence Scovel Shinn, Your Word Is Your Wand (1928)

The classic opening invocation. Speak it as a calm instruction, morning and evening, and watch for the opened way rather than demanding a specific one.

"I now draw from the abundance of the spheres my immediate and endless supply."

Florence Scovel Shinn, Your Word Is Your Wand (1928)

Shinn locates supply in the unseen first. The visible world is where it arrives, not where it comes from.

"The law of flotation was not discovered by contemplating the sinking of things, but by contemplating the floating of things."

Thomas Troward, The Edinburgh Lectures on Mental Science (1904)

The sharpest one-line critique of lack-consciousness ever written. Study what works; you do not float by analysing sinking.

Manifestation quotes on persistence, sleep and the mental diet

Technique is a small part of this work; what you do in the other twenty-three hours decides the result. These are the discipline lines.

"An assumption, though false, if persisted in, will harden into fact."

Neville Goddard, The Power of Awareness (1952)

The most quoted sentence in the law of assumption, and the answer to "how long do I affirm for": until the assumption feels like fact.

"You must assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled until your assumption has all the sensory vividness of reality."

Neville Goddard, The Power of Awareness (1952)

The standard to aim for in imaginal work: not a vague daydream but a scene vivid enough that your body responds to it as real.

"To impress the subconscious with the desirable state you must assume the feeling that would be yours had you already realized your wish."

Neville Goddard, Feeling Is the Secret (1944)

The formula in one sentence. Work backwards from the wish fulfilled: identify the feeling, then assume the feeling.

"Sleep conceals the creative act while the objective world reveals it."

Neville Goddard, Feeling Is the Secret (1944)

The theoretical basis of SATS: the state akin to sleep is where impressions are planted. What you fall asleep feeling is what you are creating. The full method is in the SATS technique.

"Never go to sleep feeling discouraged or dissatisfied. Never sleep in the consciousness of failure."

Neville Goddard, Feeling Is the Secret (1944)

A nightly rule, not a suggestion. If the day went badly, revise it before sleep rather than carrying it into the creative state.

"Do not waste one moment in regret, for to think feelingly of the mistakes of the past is to re-infect yourself."

Neville Goddard, Feeling Is the Secret (1944)

Regret is a creative act aimed backwards. Revision exists precisely to cut this loop: rewrite the memory, then let it go.

"Control of your feeling is all-important to a full and happy life."

Neville Goddard, Feeling Is the Secret (1944)

The mental diet in plain terms. You cannot control every thought, but you can refuse to keep entertaining the ones that contradict your aim.

How to actually use a manifestation quote

A quote on a Pinterest board does nothing. The same line, worked properly, is a complete practice. Three ways to use any quote above:

  • Write it from the state. Copy the quote into a journal, then write two or three lines in your own words as if it were already true of your life. The rewriting is the work. This is the daily structure the Manifestation Journal is built around: teaching on one side, your working of it on the other.
  • Speak it as a decree. Shinn's lines especially were written to be said aloud, calmly, morning and evening. Three to five repetitions with full attention, then stop.
  • Carry it into sleep. Choose one line, loop it softly as you drift off, and let it be the last thing your mind holds. The drowsy state is the most receptive one you have.

If you want the quotes as statements you can speak in the first person, the printable affirmations and the affirmation generator turn this same material into personalised lines.
