The 55x5 method asks for one sentence written fifty-five times a day for five consecutive days. It is short enough to finish and long enough that, somewhere around line thirty, the sentence stops being something you are arguing for and becomes something you are simply stating.

Thirteen A4 pages: an instruction page, a sentence page with ruled space and five checks for the wording, ten day sheets carrying fifty-five numbered lines per day split twenty-eight and twenty-seven, a date and start and finish field on each day, a one-line evening note, and a day-six review page.
Fix the sentence before day one: present tense, first person, one outcome, roughly eight to twelve words. Write all fifty-five lines in one sitting rather than spreading them across the day. Let the feeling carry the writing instead of racing the hand. Keep the five days consecutive, and restart at day one if you miss one. Stop entirely on day six; returning to the page to check puts you back in the state of not having it.
